About the Team
You will be part of the Catalog Creative team at Pottery Barn, working in our brand headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Our job is to produce print catalogs from concept through to final print ready files, working together with Design, Editorial, Merchants and other cross-functional partners.
About the Role
The Asset Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the Asset Production Coordinator and Catalog Creative team by processing incoming photography, building catalog layouts, and finalizing product and editorial copy through several rounds of proofs. The goal is to create seasonal catalogs that are beautiful, easily shoppable and on-brand. The role requires a can-do attitude, flexibility, and ongoing communication with multiple internal and external partners to produce seasonal catalogs and assist with season launches.
Essential Functions
  • Build layouts in InDesign using pre-existing brand templates for image and copy intensive catalog spreads.
  • Work with editorial and product information teams to gather product and editorial copy for assigned catalog spreads utilizing the brand's established paragraph/character styles; drawing from multiple sources to collect information.
  • Download incoming notes and photography, tracking these seasonal assets in Airtable boards.
  • Crop and organize images for pass off to Ecom team.
  • Help action comments and create edits throughout multiple proofing cycles; working closely with cross-functional partners-merchants, editorial and color team-to help ensure accurate information is reflected in the catalog before it goes to print.
  • Update seasonal Perpetual Proof in Figma to ensure accurate changes and layouts are tracked and monitored throughout catalog development.
  • Assist in the creation of seasonal brand asset presentations for executive review and cross-channel distribution.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Fine Arts with some related experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in Adobe InDesign in Mac OS X operating environment. Knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite appreciated.
  • Working knowledge of Figma, Airtable and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to perform under pressure within a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new production software and systems.
