Asset Manager

Job Summary 

CN is seeking an Asset Manager to join its Real Estate (Estate) team in Concord, ON. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of CN's real estate portfolio across Central Canada.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of real estate contract law and industry practices, along with experience in a corporate real estate environment managing a large land portfolio or within a real estate law firm.

Key Responsibilities  

Act as the primary contact with tenants

Prepare real review, and negotiate real estate agreements, including leases and land sale contracts

Administer the lease portfolio, including new, renewals, rent reviews, assignments, cancellations and environmental matters

Review and Oversee land sale transactions, including review of site plans, surveys, titles, and encumbrances, and coordinate closings with legal counsel

Complete all related data administration in Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) and the ability to generate system reports 

Provide financial analysis for contract renewals to maximize company free cash flow revenues and contributions 

Review and process all financial expenses related to the US Real Estate portfolio 

Working Conditions 

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment (hybrid schedule) with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires occasional travel (5%). Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure

Requirements 

Experience 

Real Estate 

Between 3 to 5 years of real estate contract management experience 

Experience in a corporate real estate environment with a significant land portfolio or real estate law firm* 

*Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

Knowledge of SAP, MapGuide (GIS), Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) 

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or related experience
