The Role

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Engineer is responsible for building and operating enterprise asset lifecycle capabilities across hardware, software, and cloud environments. This role ensures accurate asset visibility, lifecycle governance, and compliance through strong data management, automation, and integrations with discovery, procurement, financial, and security systems.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on ITAM experience, strong CMDB and data fundamentals, and the ability to collaborate across IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security. This role also benefits from technical skills in system integrations, APIs, and automation to improve scale, accuracy, and insight across asset processes.

Work Location: Remote in Dallas, TX / Denver, CO

The Main Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle & Governance

  • Support and mature end-to-end asset lifecycle processes (request, procurement, deployment, transfer, maintenance, and retirement)
  • Ensure asset data accuracy and alignment across inventory, CMDB, and financial systems
  • Partner with stakeholders to define asset standards, lifecycle controls, and data ownership

Asset Data, CMDB & Discovery

  • Maintain data quality across asset repositories and CMDBs
  • Support integrations with discovery and inventory tools (e.g., Flexera, Intune, SCCM, Jamf, cloud platforms)
  • Reconcile and remediate discrepancies across discovery sources and system records
  • Collaborate with technical teams to automate data ingestion, normalization, and enrichment

Software Asset Management & Compliance

  • Support software license, entitlement, and usage management processes
  • Assist with audit readiness and compliance reporting
  • Identify cost optimization and risk reduction opportunities through improved visibility and controls

Development, Automation & Integrations

  • Support or build integrations using APIs, scripts, or low-code tools to connect ITAM, CMDB, procurement, and finance systems
  • Contribute to automation of asset lifecycle workflows and data validation
  • Support reporting, analytics, or AI-enabled insights (e.g., anomaly detection, optimization trends) as capabilities mature

Reporting & Enablement

  • Develop and maintain operational and executive-level ITAM reporting and KPIs
  • Contribute to process documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles
  • Provide guidance to teams on ITAM best practices and data-driven decision-making

Main Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT Asset Management (hardware, software, and/or cloud)
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle processes, data governance, and CMDB fundamentals
  • Experience working with asset discovery and inventory data
  • Ability to analyze data quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of system integrations, APIs, automation, or scripting concepts
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of experience with ITAM platforms such as ServiceNow HAM/SAM, Flexera, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with CMDB models and service alignment (e.g., CSDM concepts)
  • Experience building dashboards, analytics, or executive reporting
  • Exposure to AI-driven analytics, automation, or optimization use cases
  • Relevant ITAM, Service Management, or platform certifications

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$132,000 - $198,000
