Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer - Working Remotely.

What are we looking for?

The PSM & RBI Engineer will support clients in improving process safety, asset integrity, and operational reliability through the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs. This role combines technical expertise, risk assessment, and client engagement to identify hazards, optimize inspection strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce operational risk. This position may travel about 25% of the time. 

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $100 to $160 K.  Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

    • Lead and facilitate PSM activities including PHA/HAZOP, MOC, incident investigations, and compliance assessments.

    • Perform RBI studies in accordance with API 580/581 methodologies.

    • Identify damage mechanisms and evaluate Probability of Failure (PoF) and Consequence of Failure (CoF).

    • Develop risk-based inspection plans, inspection intervals, and mitigation strategies using Intertek's AwareTM APM software.

    • Support Mechanical Integrity and Asset Integrity Management programs.

    • Analyze inspection, corrosion, and operating data to assess equipment risk and remaining life.

    • Conduct client workshops and present technical findings and recommendations.

    • Support implementation of digital Asset Performance Management (APM) and RBI solutions.

    • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and project deliverables.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related Engineering discipline. 

    • 5+ years of experience in process safety, inspection, RBI, or asset integrity. 

    • Working knowledge of OSHA PSM, API 580/581, API 510, API 570, and API 579. 

    • Experience with refinery, petrochemical, chemical, power, or industrial facilities. 

    • Strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills.
