GENERAL SUMMARY
The Risk Appetite & Assessment Analyst supports the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management framework. Integral to the Enterprise Risk Management department as part of the second line of defense, this role has a key part in maintaining the Bank's risk appetite program, conducting enterprise wide risk assessments, and producing high quality risk reporting for senior leadership and Board committees. The Analyst collaborates with business units and risk owners to gather data, analyze trends, and ensure that risk information is accurate, timely, and aligned with regulatory expectations. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex risk information into clear, actionable insights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develop, monitor, and refine risk appetite statements, metrics, and thresholds.
  • Support the quarterly risk appetite reporting process, including data collection, validation, and variance analysis.
  • Develop, manage, and enhance relevant policies and procedures in alignment with the Bank's Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Enhance enterprise-level risk reporting to risk committees and develop and maintain board-level reports, analytics, and trends.
  • Track performance against risk appetite limits and escalate potential breaches or emerging concerns.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc ERM reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and Board committees.
  • Support efforts to enhance automation and data quality in risk reporting through collaboration with the ERM GRC Integration team.
  • Help maintain documentation and governance materials related to the risk appetite framework.
  • Support the annual enterprise wide Risk Identification and Assessment process, including data gathering, scoring, and analysis.
  • Facilitate risk assessment workshops and interviews with business units.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the Bank's risk taxonomy and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Analyze risk trends and emerging risks to support forward looking risk assessments.
  • Develop training specific to main areas of focus, such as Risk Appetite, Risk ID, and the processes outlined in respective policies.
  • Consolidate and analyze risk data from multiple sources to produce clear, accurate, and insightful reporting.
  • Support enhancements to risk data quality, reporting automation, and visualization tools.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Data Analytics or related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Financial Sector experience with particular focus in Risk Management, preferably in mid to large size U.S. banking institutions.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in risk management, financial analysis, audit, or a related discipline within financial services.
  • Experience designing and developing Risk reports for risk committees and Board.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to ERM (OCC, FRB, FDIC), preferred.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data
  • Self-motivated with an analytical mindset and a drive to develop new programs.
  • Proven record of delivering high quality results within strict deadlines.

$84K - $90K / year
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
