The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections within Rooms To Go distribution centers to ensure products meet company standards and customer expectations. This role performs a variety of inspection activities, including chair assembly inspections, new product inspections (NPI), and receiving inspections. The Quality Control Inspector also supports product investigations, analyzes quality trends, and works with manufacturing partners to resolve quality concerns.
This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in using handheld tablets and software applications to document inspection results.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct chair assembly inspections, new product inspections (NPI), receiving inspections, and other quality control evaluations within distribution center operations.
- Visually inspect products to verify compliance with Rooms To Go quality standards and customer expectations.
- Accurately document inspection findings using handheld tablets and ServiceNow quality management applications.
- Maintain records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions.
- Participate in product investigations to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend solutions.
- Process Product Change Requests (PCRs) and coordinate responses from manufacturing partners.
- Analyze customer service reports and quality data to identify recurring trends and product performance concerns.
- Collaborate with distribution center teams, quality management, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality and reducing defects.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, warehouse operations, distribution, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects and quality concerns.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to filter, analyze, and interpret data.
- Comfortable using handheld tablets, mobile devices, and software applications to document inspection results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to participate in root-cause investigations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to regularly lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical inspection activities throughout the workday.
