PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to lead the internal Weld Shop, Machine Shop, Finishing/Assembly, Support, Test and Repair by developing strategies, implementing plans, and validating processes to achieve operational goals. The Manufacturing Supervisor will guide the team to effective results within the areas of delivery, safety, quality, process improvement & cost through use of accepted business practices and lean methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing weld shop, machine shop, finishing/assembly, support ,test and repair.
  • Develop and implement strategies to keep the manufacturing cells on plan for customer commitments.
  • Lead and manage all resources of the manufacturing cells to ensure the achievement of all committed metrics.
  • Conduct regular performance feedback to employees. Maximize production personnel capabilities and implement procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and define strategies to ensure mid and long-term production goals are met.
  • Drive change daily by creating channels for feedback and effectively using company-wide systems of communication to ensure employees are stakeholders and have a voice in the workplace.
  • Perform the daily time and attendance updates in the system addressing any violations.
  • Maintain the vacation schedule ensuring key resources are available when needed.
  • Lead solutions to improve staff capabilities and performance management.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining all health and safety standards within the manufacturing team.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by management

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques.
  • Planning background.
  • Standard Operating Procedure development.
  • High energy level, assertive personality and comfortable performing multiple projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve required results.
  • Highly organized with good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to efficiently organize and complete daily activities.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with others, tactful, mature, and flexible.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive – but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities
  • Results oriented with focus on project completions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering technologies or a related field highly preferred or experience will be considered. Significant work experience can be substituted for educational requirements on a case-by-case basis.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or work center environment.
