Equipment Specialist: Welding & Custom Fabrication

Freightliner of Hartford / Alliance Truck Center Hartford, CT | Day Shift: Monday ? Friday

The Opportunity

Are you a skilled fabricator who enjoys seeing a project through from start to finish? We are seeking an Equipment Specialist to join our family-oriented team. In this role, you will be responsible for the custom assembly and fabrication of dump bodies onto premium heavy-duty chassis.

Base Pay: $20.00 ? $40.00+ per hour (Commensurate with experience).

Core Responsibilities

Custom Fabrication: Build and assemble dump truck bodies onto various OEM heavy-duty truck chassis.

Welding & Cutting: Expertly weld steel using MIG equipment; operate plasma cutters and oxy/acetylene torches.

Systems Installation: Fabricate and install 12V wiring harnesses and PTO (Power Take-Off) assemblies.

Hydraulics: Assemble and plumb hydraulic hoses and complete hydraulic systems.

Precision Work: Accurately read tape measures and follow complex wiring diagrams and blueprints.

Shop Operations: Operate forklifts and maintain a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional welding and fabrication experience.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG welding, metal cutting, and drilling.

Schematics: Ability to read and understand English-language wiring diagrams and technical manuals.

Mindset: Ability to work independently on a build while remaining a cohesive part of the team.

Certification: Forklift operation experience is required.
