Are you ready to build America's energy future? Form Energy is an American manufacturing and energy technology company. We're revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day technology designed to keep the electric grid secure and reliable, even during extended periods of stress. By strengthening the electric system and reimagining what's possible, we're giving clean energy a whole new form!
In recent years, Form Energy has earned a number of accolades, including being named by TIME as a "Best Invention", MIT Technology Review as a "Top Climate Tech Company To Watch", and Fast Company as "One of the Next Big Things In Tech". We are making rapid progress on our mission of delivering energy storage for a better world, and our team is growing just as rapidly to meet demand. We have signed contracts with leading electric utilities across the United States and production of our iron-air batteries is underway at our first high-volume manufacturing facility in West Virginia.
Working for Form Energy is more than just a job, it's a chance to be part of something extraordinary. And now - right as we significantly scale up battery manufacturing - might be the most exciting moment in the company's history to join. We are assembling a team of highly talented and driven individuals across the country. Driven by our core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is determined to deliver on our mission and transform the energy landscape for the better.
Feeling energized to make a meaningful impact on the world? Then keep reading - you've come to the right place.
Role Description
Form Energy is hiring an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to lead the 24/7 operation of our Final Assembly Business, spanning cell assembly, module assembly, pack assembly (thermal, tower, and general assembly), and DCDC production. This role reports into our Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations. As part of our team, you will own safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance for a multi-stage assembly operation and lead the teams that take our product from cell to shippable system. You will be the central operational force on the factory floor, serving as the critical link between manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, and production. If you thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and are passionate about driving operational excellence and on-time delivery, we encourage you to apply. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
  • Own safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance for the cell, module, pack (thermal, tower, and general assembly), and DCDC production lines across all shifts of a 24/7 operation
  • Build a culture that prioritizes safety and product quality while consistently meeting production targets
  • Lead, develop, and mentor and organization of associate managers, shift supervisors, and production associates, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and continuously learning environment focused on operational excellence
  • Drive line balancing, takt attainment, and throughput improvement across sequential assembly operations, managing WIP and flow between cell, module, pack, and DCDC lines
  • Ensure standardized work, error-proofing (poka-yoke), and quality gates - in-process checks and end-of-line testing - are executed consistently across shifts and areas
  • Use structured problem solving to drive root cause resolution of assembly defects, test failures, and rework in partnership with quality and manufacturing engineering
  • Partner with supply chain and materials teams to ensure line-side material availability, kitting, and inventory accuracy for a high part-count assembly operation
  • Own tier meeting execution, stand-ups, visual management, and structured escalation - and lead continuous improvement activities grounded in lean manufacturing principles
  • Provide feedback to product design and advanced manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability, assembly ergonomics, and future line design

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high volume manufacturing setting
  • 10+ years of experience in a high volume manufacturing setting, ideally in complex electromechanical assembly - battery packs, energy storage, automotive/EV, appliances, or power electronics
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Technical discipline
  • Experience running multi-stage assembly operations with line balancing, takt-based production, and end-of-line testing
  • Familiarity with electrical safety practices for energized products and power electronics (e.g., DCDC) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing and structured problem solving (8D, A3, DMAIC, or similar)
  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics/KPIs (safety, quality, first-pass yield, throughput, OTD, cost)
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
#LI-Onsite
