2nd Shift Assembly Supervisor
Location: Greenville, Michigan
Reports to: Production Manager
Employment Status: Salary Non-Exempt
Composition Brands is seeking a motivated and results-driven 2nd Shift Assembly Supervisor to lead our Assembly team in Greenville, Michigan. This role is responsible for overseeing second shift assembly operations, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in developing team members, driving continuous improvement, and delivering the high-quality refrigeration products our customers expect across our iconic brands, including Marvel, U-Line, and Viking Refrigeration.

Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday 2:30 p.m.- 1:00 a.m.
Position Overview:
The 2nd Shift Assembly Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting production operations by leading assembly team members, coordinating workflow, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day assembly activities, maintaining accurate production records, and providing frontline support to employees to achieve production goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage team members - You are expected to monitor performance of your team members and provide feedback, both positive and constructive criticism, where appropriate
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
  • Monitor employee productivity and motivate workers to ensure hourly/daily pace goal is met.
  • Train new employees and cross train personnel by adhering to and executing the training system supplied.
  • Manages resources to meet pace and quality goals as listed above.
  • Display good leadership qualities, including integrity, ability to communicate effectively, maintain good relationships with production associates, show ability to motivate.
  • Look for positive qualities in associates to coach up to higher levels of employment
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports
  • Understand how production flows through the facility
  • Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Effectively communicate with management and be a conduit between management and your team members
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Safety conscience at all times as well as ensures associates are operating safely (be the example for your team).
  • Team player and foster an environment that ensures each member of the area is working toward the common goal.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as lead or supervisor of 5-30 people in an assembly line environment.
  • Proven experience meeting and maintaining daily production goals.
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration preferred.
  • Drive to push production.
  • Must be motivated and not mind a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work on a variety of units at the same time
  • Strong manual dexterity, be able to adjust to changing job assignments quickly and easily.
  • Ability to use basic assembly tools- pneumatic, cordless, and hand tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Can read/ interpret drawings or blueprints.
  • Can easily follow technical instructions.
  • Experienced with navigating through a BOM and able to determine the correct materials to use for the assembly.
  • To pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
