Job description

Sensors, Test & Calibration is a business unit within the Measurement, Communications & Test Division of AMETEK, Inc. We are currently searching for a technical assembler with 3-5 years of experience to support legacy repair and new assembly of NEWAGE hardness tester products.
This position will reside at our Largo, FL facility.
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is a key member of a team which ensures that equipment and devices are fabricated and perform to the stated product specifications and meet the customer's expectations for their stated application needs and performance. They also complete after sales technical support and repair as their experience and job duties dictate.
Assembler performs diversified mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly or sub-assembly work that is moderately complex. Requires adjusting, fitting, and aligning to ordinary tolerances. Direction provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures and drawings. Requires print reading and basic math skills as well as the ability to use common hand tools and operate assembly machines. Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing.
Assembles electrical and mechanical components into a finished product. Also provides technical support and repair capability as job requirements dictate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently at work and on time, keeps commitments and meets deadlines; ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Responds to management direction and follows instructions; listens well and gets clarification as required.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Follows company policies and procedures; supports safety initiatives.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to speak effectively within the work group.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school or equivalent; Technical/Trade school or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
