Overview
Assembly is seeking a strategic, influential, and highly visible Director of Brand & Communications to elevate and protect the Assembly brand globally.
Reporting to the Global SVP of Brand, this role will lead the development and execution of Assembly's global brand strategy, corporate communications, thought leadership initiatives, executive visibility programs, and industry engagement efforts. The Director will play a critical role in shaping how Assembly is perceived by clients, employees, prospective talent, industry partners, and the broader marketplace.
This individual must be an exceptional storyteller, writer, and communicator with proven experience developing executive narratives, authoring thought leadership content and white papers, representing brands at industry events, and delivering compelling presentations to both internal and external audiences.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative global environment.
Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
  • Reporting to the Global SVP of Brand to implement and execute Assembly's global brand strategy and positioning across the four regions, with North America being the focus.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all markets, channels, and stakeholder groups.
  • Develop compelling narratives that communicate Assembly's vision, values, capabilities, and competitive differentiation.
  • Act as a brand steward, ensuring all communications align with Assembly's strategic direction.

Corporate Communications
  • Lead internal and external communications initiatives that strengthen brand reputation and engagement, supporting the appropriate communication of executive voices to the global business, to a generation that consumes and receives messages different from any that have come before.
  • Develop executive communications, key messaging frameworks, company announcements, and strategic communications plans to reach existing and talent we want to attract - make Assembly a go to destination
  • Support organizational change, business transformation, and major company initiatives through effective communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging globally.

Thought Leadership & Content Development
  • Lead Assembly's thought leadership strategy across industry, client, and media audiences.
  • Research, write, and oversee the development of:
    • White papers
    • Industry reports
    • Executive articles
    • Opinion pieces
    • Case studies
    • Client-facing insights
    • Conference presentations
  • Partner with subject matter experts across Media, Data, Technology, Commerce, and Analytics to translate complex topics into compelling content.
  • Maintain a strategic editorial calendar that supports brand and business objectives.

Executive Visibility & Public Speaking
  • Build and manage executive visibility programs for Assembly leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, conferences, industry panels, webinars, podcasts, and media appearances.
  • Support senior leaders with presentation development, speech writing, talking points, and keynote content.
  • Serve as a visible brand ambassador capable of presenting Assembly's vision, capabilities, and thought leadership to internal and external audiences.
  • Represent Assembly at industry events and networking opportunities.

Public Relations & Industry Influence
  • Partner with PR agencies and media partners to strengthen Assembly's market presence alongside key identified talent
  • Develop proactive media and analyst relations programs.
  • Drive award strategies, industry recognition programs, and conference participation.
  • Manage responses to reputation-related communications issues when required.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Develop communication programs that reinforce company culture, strategic priorities, and employee engagement.
  • Partner closely with People Operations and executive leadership on internal communication initiatives.
  • Support company-wide events, town halls, leadership meetings, and employee communications.
  • Support the development of agency merch, visual branding and ad hoc engagement efforts

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead and develop communications and content resources across the organization.
  • Manage external agencies, freelancers, and creative partners as needed.
  • Establish communication KPIs and measure the effectiveness of brand, communications, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 8-12+ years of experience in Brand, Communications, Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Content Strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working within media, marketing, consulting, technology, professional services, or related industries.
  • Proven success building and executing global brand and communications strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience creating executive thought leadership content and publishing white papers or industry research.
  • Strong public speaking experience, including presenting at conferences, industry events, client forums, webinars, and executive meetings.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and C-suite communications.
