We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd Shift Assembly Machinists to set-up and operate manuel lathes, tapping presses, and fit drills within our assembly departments. 

Assembly Machinist Job Functions: 

  • Perform all duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner with an emphasis on quality.  Follow Company and departmental procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.  Follow all safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Report any unusual conditions or situations to Lead Person or Supervisor.
  • Select and change fixtures, plugs, arbors, drill bits and taps.
  • Set speed and stroke length of drill press, deburr parts and tap parts, use thread, and plug gauges.
  • Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
  • Load parts on chuck or plug, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
  • Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork including SPC charting.
  • Move parts to and from work area and scale as needed.  Wash parts before running.
  • Maintain all machine fluid levels and belts.
  • Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications
  • Select and change cutting inserts, arbors, and plugs
  • Set O.D. size, face size, groove size and chamfer size properly.  True arbor.  Set cutting tool speed and RPM speed properly.  Set appropriate gauges to print specifications.
  • Load parts, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
  • Surface grind and re-sharpen teeth on arbor as needed.

 Minimum Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED (validation is required)
  • Previous manufacturing experience with general machine aptitude
  • Ability to accurately use calipers, gauges and micrometer
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Prior manufacturing and machine operatirng experience preferred

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $19.50 - $22.50 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
