Job description

Based in Park City, UT, Triumph Geared Solutions is a leading independent aerospace gear and gear box supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 200 employees. The Company's key products and services include power transmission systems, integrated gearbox design and builds, airframe mounted accessor drives (AMAD's), engine mounted accessory drives (EMAD's), rotorcraft transmissions, turboshaft internal gearboxes, emergency power gearboxes, and large complex aero gears for both OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Park City, UT lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it's bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of operations related to the assembly and test of precision aerospace mechanical power drive products such as accessory drive transmissions, gearboxes, brakes, clutches, hubs, pumps and flight trim actuators.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specified tolerances following applicable documentation, engineering instructions, and specifications.
  • Work with complex aluminum, magnesium, titanium, and steel components.
  • Installation of various hardware (i.e., studs, inserts, helicoils, liners, lee plugs, lockwire, rivets) into complex components.
  • Also includes components that require thermal fit (heating and cooling components, using ovens and freezers/liquid nitrogen, for proper installation).
  • Inspection of part interiors utilizing borescopes.
  • Flush, flow test, and pressure test housings and covers with cored passageways.
  • Utilize inspection tools including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages.
  • Torque components to specification using various torque wrenches.
  • Utilize arbor and hydraulic presses to install components without damage. Application of proper lubricants and cleaners to parts in process.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Advanced Technical Degree a plus
  • Two years' experience in aerospace environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Flexible to changing tasks and workload.
  • Willing to work overtime and/or split shifts on short notice.
  • Self-motivated, creative, team oriented, resourceful, adaptable, results oriented, willingness to learn.
  • Read/Interpret complex assembly blueprints, build books, aerospace standard and customer specifications.
  • Certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics rating a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word & Excel
  • Familiar with AS9100 processes and procedures a plus
