Position Summary:
The Aluminum Extrusion Assembler is responsible for assembling aluminum profiles and components produced through the extrusion process. This role involves reading blueprints, preparing materials, performing mechanical assembly, and ensuring all finished products meet quality and dimensional standards. The assembler supports efficient production flow and contributes to the overall success of fabrication and manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Assembly & Fabrication
  • Assemble aluminum extrusions into frames, structures, or finished products according to drawings and work instructions.
  • Cut, drill, tap, and prepare extrusions using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Install hardware, fasteners, brackets, and connectors.
  • Perform basic machining or fitting as required for proper alignment and fit.

Quality & Inspection
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment using calipers, squares, gauges, and measuring tools.
  • Inspect parts for defects, scratches, warping, or incorrect cuts.
  • Ensure assemblies meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Document inspection results and report nonconforming materials.

Material Handling & Workflow
  • Pull and stage extrusions, hardware, and components for assembly jobs.
  • Organize and maintain workstations, tools, and materials.
  • Coordinate with production leads to meet daily build schedules.
  • Package completed assemblies for shipment or downstream processes.

Safety & Maintenance
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and safe handling of aluminum profiles.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S principles.
  • Perform basic tool maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.

Requirements
  • Experience in assembly, fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift materials and work in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred
  • Experience working with aluminum extrusions or metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with CNC saws, drill presses, or other fabrication machinery.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, tools, and moving materials.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and handling long aluminum profiles.
  • Collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams.
