Description

JOB SUMMARY  

The Assembler is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical assembly and subassembly of miscellaneous lighting fixtures and ovens, ensuring products are produced to meet customer standards. The Assembler will work independently and as part of a team at various workstations in a fast-paced environment, rotating as needed to ensure timely completion of work orders and maintain production efficiency.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                      

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components of lighting products, such as fixtures, wiring, and hardware, using hand tools, power tools, and assembly machines. 
  • Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly. 
  • Conduct testing of finished assemblies to ensure functionality, quality, and safety standards.
  • Perform visual inspections to check for defects or errors in assembly. 
  • Diagnose and resolve any assembly issues or product malfunctions. 
  • Perform necessary adjustments or repairs to mechanical or electrical systems to meet specifications. 
  • Operate and maintain basic production machinery, tools, and equipment. 
  • Keep tools and workstations clean, organized, and well-maintained. 
  • Accurately complete assembly logs, work orders, and quality control documentation. 
  • Report any quality issues or delays to the production supervisor. 
  • Work closely with other assemblers, engineers, and production personnel to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals. 
  • Communicate effectively regarding any problems or potential improvements in the assembly process.  
  • Train other team members as needed.  
  • Adhere to attendance policies, ensuring punctuality and reliability in reporting for shifts.  
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies in handling materials, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in training sessions and safety meetings.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor, Leadperson, or Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, preferably in the lighting or electrical manufacturing industry. 
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment is a plus. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. 
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and assembly procedures. 
  • Familiarity with lighting products and electrical systems is preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Good communication skills.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds - Occasionally (15-45%) 
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours) - Continuously (over 75%) 
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating tools, parts, and equipment - Frequently (50-75%) 
  • Visual acuity to inspect small components and wiring for defects - Frequently (50-75%)
