Job description

BEPC is actively looking for Research Associate II Assay Development, in Tucson, AZ area!

W2 Contract – 2 years with possible extensions!

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: This is a fully onsite position.

Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II – Assay Development to join our client’s site in Tucson, AZ. This role will support research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation, specifically focused on IHC and molecular detection kit development.

The Research Associate II will design, execute, and interpret experiments and apply technical expertise toward project strategies. The role will prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses and present results to the team, while maintaining complete and accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with company policies, including GMP, GLP, and Design Control.


Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation, specifically supporting IHC and molecular detection kit development.
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments and apply technical expertise toward project strategies.
  • Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision, including making observations and analyzing data.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation and records in compliance with company policies, including GMP, GLP, and Design Control.
  • Troubleshoot problems and institute corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment by providing creative solutions and input to project planning.
  • Contribute to process improvement suggestions and assist in identifying patentable inventions.
  • Train colleagues and monitor work to ensure quality and continuous adherence to the Quality First Time principle.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for complex problems.


Main Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant job experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in a range of specialized wet laboratory techniques, including pipetting, using a balance and stir plate, etc.; capable of searching scientific literature; skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Soft Skills: Good communication and presentation skills, meticulous attention to detail, coachable, collaborative, and a proven ability and desire to learn.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in reagent and instrument development.
