In this role, you'll support the Marketing and Communications team in bringing our digital presence, social media, and member-facing content to life-from updating websites and crafting social posts to capturing member stories and supporting event coverage. Hiring Range: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Actively collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to meet project deadlines and support strategic goals.
  • Update KansasCityYMCA.org and related websites with accurate, timely content for prospects, members, and program participants.
  • Assist in content writing and scheduling for social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Use creative software to update forms, create simple marketing materials, and resize/adapt graphics for multiple channels.
  • Collect, organize, and archive member stories, photos, videos, and testimonials for campaigns, ensuring proper releases and usage rights.
  • Help proof and quality-check written and creative projects for accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
  • Track and respond to reviews on Google and Facebook to support member satisfaction and retention.
  • Maintain and update KCYMarketing.com for internal team resources and templates.
  • Support event marketing, including pre-event promotion, onsite logistics, photography/video, and live social media coverage.
  • Monitor social media comments and messages, providing timely responses or routing inquiries to the appropriate team member.
  • Prepare and assist analytics reports on digital engagement, ad performance, website traffic, and campaign outcomes.
  • Travel as needed to YMCA locations across the association to support events, campaigns, and content gathering.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perspectives.
  • Ability to make independent, sound decisions in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat preferred, or willingness to be trained to assist with updates/edits to marketing materials.
  • Basic photography and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Ability to travel locally within the association's service area and work occasional evenings/weekends for events.
