Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary tests, and developing customized treatment plans
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses collaboratively with physicians or independently (as permitted by your credentials)
- Guide patients and their families in preventive care, wellness initiatives, and managing illnesses
- Prescribe medications and therapies within your professional scope
- Engage in continuous patient follow-up and chronic disease management
- Work in unison with interdisciplinary teams to provide consistent and comprehensive care
- Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation using electronic medical record systems (EMR)
Qualifications Needed
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner program
Certifications Required
- Active nurse practitioner license in Texas
- National certification as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or a relevant specialty.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
