Job description

Description:

Employee will be responsible for performing skilled finishing tasks on asphalt paving projects as the Lute Man. This position requires proficiency with hand tools to achieve smooth, uniform asphalt mats. Employee will be organized, safety-conscious, and work well in a team environment with paver and roller crews.


Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Uses lute rake to smooth and level freshly laid asphalt before rolling
  • Works closely with screed and paver operators to correct surface irregularities
  • Assists with material placement and handwork in tight areas
  • Performs daily safety checks and tool maintenance
  • Participates in daily safety meetings and enforces safety rules
  • Helps load/unload tools and materials
  • Reports quality or safety issues to foreman immediately
  • Maintains clean work area and assists with site cleanup


Qualifications:

  • Proficient lute/raking skills and asphalt finishing experience
  • 1-2 years construction experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Reliable transportation
  • 40-65 hours/week availability
