Job description

A Host is the first person a guest meets when they enter an Aspen Tap House. They are the face of the store. A Host must be able to perform a variety of tasks from greeting guests, answering phones, seating guests, running food, assisting with children, taking to-go orders, and rolling silverware.
Essential Functions
  • Ensures that each guest receives a legendary welcome and good-bye when dining at Aspen Tap House.
  • Uses the POS (point of sale) system effectively and correctly (if applicable).
  • Ensures all guests are comfortable and cared for.
  • Effectively maintains wait and quote times during each shift.
  • Maintains a clean and well stocked restroom during each shift.
  • Answers all phones calls, handles to-go orders and call ahead seating requests.
  • Effectively communicates with Server Assistants to ensure speedy table turns.
  • Ensure each guest is told our story.
  • Adheres to core values: passion, partnership, integrity and fun, all with purpose.
  • Understands and effectively executes first time guest program.
  • Practices safety and sanitation at all times.
  • Completes proper opening and closing duties as determined by the Manager, which may include: sets up host stand, turns on music, cleans windows and meat case, unlocks doors, sweeps floor, cleans out ashtray(s), lays out all floor mats.
  • During each shift one host will be designated by a Manager to be responsible for recording all transactions related to the host position duties on the POS; this includes but is not limited to to-go sales, gift card sales and providing change for guests.
  • During each shift the host is responsible for delivering silverware, bread and kid menus and crayons to each guest as needed.
  • At the direction of the Manager, the host may be responsible for helping a guest to pick out his or her steak from the display case. The host may also be responsible for selling "Blossom's in the window" and delivering the appetizer to the guests' table upon request.
  • Maintains proper etiquette with all staff members and guests.
  • Exhibits teamwork at all times.
  • Participates in contests and line dancing during each shift.
  • Maintains proper uniform and hygiene standards at all times
