Job description

At Propio Language Services we are closing language gap by connecting people anywhere and anytime through innovative technology and solutions.
Founded in 1998 Propio Language Services provides critical interpreting and translation services that improve the quality of life with the communities we engage in. We do that by providing both remote and onsite services in more than 350 Spoken Languages andAmerican Sign Language, for over 16,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff, and over 18,000 contract interpreters.
Quality interpretation is critical to our shared success, and it is only possible by bringing in the best interpreters in the industry.
We have an immediate need for a Remote American Sign Language (ASL) Contract Interpreterfor our Video OnDemand service PropioONE.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide interpretation virtually via Video Remote.
  • Precisely and accurately interprets critical information given by Propio's clients into pre-determined target language(s)
  • Complies with applicable ethics and standards.
  • Interprets in a timely and accurate manner for the consumer/family members in a wide variety of settings (80% Medical - 20% General Community based Interpreting)
  • Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and/or regulatory requirements or policies and standards.
  • Participates in continuing annual educational programs by Propio.
  • Completion of daily activity logs and other documentation.
  • Our System is Not CDI Capable (in development).

Required Qualifications
  • Verification of ASL (American Sign Language) proficiency (Certification) National ASL (American Sign Language) Certification (RID) and/or EIPA 3.7+ and/or BEI.
  • State License or Registration (If the state you reside in requires it).
  • 1 years of relevant Interpreting Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Must live in the USA
