Job description

Immediate opening for a Private Banker with a regional financial institution focused on bridging the U.S. and Asia, serving high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, family offices, corporate executives, and business owners with sophisticated private banking and wealth management solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Private Banker to join our New York City team. This is an opportunity for a proven relationship manager who thrives in a highly consultative environment and enjoys serving successful clients with complex financial needs.

If you have an established network of affluent clients and centers of influence—and want the flexibility and entrepreneurial culture of a growing institution with a unique international value proposition—we'd like to talk with you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Develop new relationships through personal networking, referrals, and professional centers of influence including attorneys, CPAs, family offices, and investment advisors.
  • Deliver comprehensive private banking solutions including:
    • Customized credit and lending
    • Residential and commercial real estate financing
    • Securities-based lending
    • Deposit and treasury solutions
    • Cash management
    • Wealth planning referrals
    • Trust and estate planning coordination
  • Partner with investment advisors, wealth strategists, commercial bankers, and international banking specialists to provide integrated client solutions.
  • Identify opportunities across business owner, executive, family office, and cross-border client segments.
  • Lead sophisticated credit discussions involving complex liquidity and financing needs.
  • Maintain exceptional service standards while growing wallet share and client loyalty.
  • Achieve annual production, asset growth, revenue, and client acquisition goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of Private Banking or Private Wealth Management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing affluent client relationships ($5MM+ investable assets preferred).
  • Strong history of business development and organic client acquisition.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, corporate executives, real estate investors, and family offices.
  • Extensive network of attorneys, CPAs, investment professionals, and other referral sources.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Credit structuring
    • Residential and commercial lending
    • Securities-based lending
    • Deposits and cash management
    • Wealth management collaboration
  • Proven ability to work within a team-based coverage model.
  • FINRA licenses (Series 7, 66/63) preferred but not required depending on role responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFP®, CFA®, or CTFA designation is a plus.

What makes them different:

Unlike traditional private banks, our client offers a unique combination of commercial banking expertise, sophisticated lending capabilities, and international connectivity.

Their bankers work with:

  • Business owners preparing for liquidity events
  • Private equity professionals
  • Real estate investors
  • Technology and healthcare executives
  • Family offices
  • International entrepreneurs
  • Cross-border families with financial interests in both the U.S. and Asia

Their collaborative platform enables Private Bankers to leverage commercial banking, international banking, treasury management, and wealth management specialists to deliver comprehensive solutions that larger institutions often struggle to coordinate.
