Join a dedicated laboratory team in a well-established healthcare setting serving the Southeastern United States region. This role involves the precise analysis of laboratory specimens and timely reporting of results in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on specimen acceptability, unusual results, and instrument issues.
- Perform accurate testing of specimens following laboratory procedures.
- Report test outcomes promptly and maintain compliance with quality control standards including CAP and JCAHO.
- Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory instruments as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols including universal precautions, bloodborne pathogen standards, and hazardous materials handling.
- Support orientation and training for new laboratory staff and students.
- Perform phlebotomy when necessary.
- Assist with coverage during Technical Specialist absences and float between laboratory sites as needed.
A Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science with clinical training across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patient testing is required. MLS(ASCP) certification is mandatory. No prior work experience is necessary, but clinical training is essential.
