Job description

Job Title: Math Interventionist

Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Dean of Student Services

Work Days: Monday-Friday school days and professional development; 7:15-3:30(4:30)

Compensation Range: $44,000 - $49,000 annually based on experience and qualifications

Position Summary: At Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND), interventionists work with teachers to execute the content-rich curriculum established by Hillsdale College's K12 Education office. Interventionists are dedicated to mastering the key elements of their instruction and to the intellectual and moral betterment of their students. Ascent Classical Academies teachers and interventionists take seriously their moral and intellectual improvement as part of a hard-working, supportive, and excellence-driven culture.

Essential Functions: Promote the school's mission and vision for classical education. Support primary teachers in the appropriate identification of students in kindergarten through grade 10 needing math intervention. Develop and implement daily lesson plans and small-group activities consistent with Colorado State standards, current research methodologies, and classical pedagogy. Provide one-on-one and small group math instruction to students needing math intervention. Work with classroom teachers to plan and provide math support as needed.Plan and use appropriate, research-based instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of identified students in the area of math. Use assessment data to drive instructional decisions daily. Provide students, faculty, and parents with specific evaluative feedback. Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire dateDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operationsDemonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplacePerform related duties as required and flex to other Student Services needs when requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field. A Master's Degree is a bonus but not required. One plus years of classroom experience teaching mathematics. Commitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. Commitment to classical education and to the high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government. Knowledge of classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn). Knowledge of the Singapore math curriculum and pedagogy or willingness to learn. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skills. Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members. Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing . Must be able to supervise outdoor activities
