Job description

Centrum Surgery Center is looking for a Fulltime Assistant Manager, ASC to join our team!
Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Texas required.
SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager, ASC supports the daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center by assisting in workflow coordination, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with the ASC Manager to ensure efficient operations, high-quality patient care, and adherence to all clinical and administrative standards. The Assistant Manager, ASC serves as a key resource for staff, helping to implement processes, resolve issues, and maintain a safe and compliant environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support the ASC Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and regulatory compliance
  • Assist in supervising, training, and supporting clinical and administrative staff, including intake, front desk, medical assistants, and scheduling teams
  • Help coordinate staff assignments, prioritize daily tasks, and escalate performance, workflow, or staffing concerns to the ASC Manager as needed
  • Assist in the implementation and reinforcement of policies, procedures, and operational processes
  • Support compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and HIPAA requirements by monitoring processes and reporting gaps
  • Assist with administrative operations, including invoice tracking, timesheet review, and basic budget monitoring; escalate discrepancies to leadership
  • Maintain accurate patient and staff records, ensuring documentation meets regulatory and organizational standards
  • Support supply and equipment management, including monitoring inventory levels and reporting needs or issues
  • Help ensure a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment across all patient care areas
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow from admission through discharge, including pre-operative and post-operative processes
  • Verify completion of required documentation (consents, test results, medical records) prior to procedures and escalate deficiencies
  • Support clinical care delivery as needed, including assisting with patient assessments, monitoring, and execution of physician orders
  • Communicate patient status changes to appropriate clinical staff and escalate to physicians or anesthesia providers as appropriate
  • Assist in addressing patient concerns, complaints, and service recovery efforts, escalating complex issues to the ASC Manager
  • Support compliance with workplace safety standards and assist with incident reporting and follow-up Assistant Manager, ASC
  • Serve as a resource to staff and act in a lead capacity in the absence of the ASC Manager, within delegated authority
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Texas; License must remain active and unencumbered while employed
  • Five (5) years clinical experience in the operating room
  • One (1) year in a leadership role
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire
