Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, building materials, and noise. Operates field monitoring equipment. May assist with asbestos surveys and abatement projects. Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis. Tabulate and prepare data for written reports. Cleans and maintains field monitoring equipment. Adhere to strict safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
- Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
- A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required
Preferred Certifications:
- Lead Risk Assessor
- Mold Technician
- Other national, regional, state, and local environmental related certifications requiring experience and written examination will also be considered if deemed appropriate by the Terracon Department Manager.
- Required Certification:
- Asbestos Building Inspector
- Asbestos Project Manager
- Air Sampling Professional
- Independently performs non-routine field testing on a variety of projects.
- Calibrate field monitoring equipment such as PID or combustible gas indicator.
- Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with AHERA guidelines.
- Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects.
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
