What we are looking for:
  • The Shipping and Logistics Lead for finish goods material is responsible for assisting with all cases shipped to our internal and external customers.
  • Oversee work assignments given to the Shipping Operators and provide assistance towards determining and meeting short-term departmental objectives.
  • Delegate job assignments and determine priorities based on available labor and workload.
  • Assure that shipping personnel execute job duties and demonstrate personal conduct in a manner that is compliant with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Take appropriate actions when necessary to assure the efficient and compliant operation to our internal and external customers.
  • Communicates with department management, traffic and/or shipping associates and takes the appropriate action in matters pertaining to accuracy, safety, and housekeeping
  • Observe and communicate unsafe conditions to traffic and /or supervision and take corrective actions.
  • Provide assistance with problem solving for shipping personnel and other designees for scanning and case location questions.
  • Demonstrate ability to adjust to changing demands and priorities on a constant basis.
  • Assist with planning for and execution of quarterly physical inventories.
  • Ensure personnel meet or exceed the minimum number of trailers/cases loaded daily, performing root cause analysis when mistakes are discovered, and performing 6S audits.
  • Ensure company safety, quality and performance procedures are met in a safe, clean and organized setting and offer recommendations to improve these standards.
  • Operate lift truck or hand truck to move products when necessary.
  • Occasional, and at times heavy, overtime and extended hours are required including weekends
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to operate a forklift..
  • Minimum 4 years warehouse experience.
  • Warehouse supervisory experience preferred.
  • AS400 Experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Must be self‑motivated and able to demonstrate sound judgment when confronted with unexpected or unfamiliar work and/or people situations.
  • Close attention to detail is required to assure the accuracy of documents, the proper storage and movement of materials, proper data entry in the AS400 computer systems, to correct potential unsafe or housekeeping conditions in the warehouse storage and work areas.
Strengths needed for this role:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds plus bending, twisting or lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces, must be able to push and pull cases in excess of 200lbs to 800lbs repetitiously.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, and/or kneel.
