Job description

Status:ย  Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Shift:ย  Days
Note:ย  This position is a 10-Month Work Contract, working August May of the school year.
Description:
Create and prepare appetizing, high quality, and safe foods for students, staff and visitors.
Essential Functions:









  1. Prepare delicious comfort foods that appeal to students and staff. Food preparation includes main dishes, sides, salads and baked goods.
  2. Serve food to customers during designated food serving times in a friendly, fun, courteous and engaging manner.
  3. Prepare menu items using established departmental policies and procedures and in compliance with all health regulations and guidelines
  4. Maintain a clean workstation, kitchen, self-serve and serving areas, providing a healthy and attractive environment.
  5. Set up food merchandisers and full-service stations with an organized and appealing presentation.
  6. Operate a cash register fast and accurately as required.
  7. Transport food and set-up satellite service to various Tulsa Tech campuses/locations for catered events.
  8. Assemble, operate, disassemble and clean food service equipment in accordance with operating procedures and safety requirements.
  9. Properly check and store incoming food and kitchen supplies.
  10. Monitor workstation records and kitchen inventories regarding groceries needed, adjustments to recipes, and proper accounting for all supplies utilized.
  11. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Job Requirements:ย 

  • This position requires a minimum of one year of experience cooking in restaurant, cafeteria or other food service establishment.ย Alternatively, completion of an accredited Culinary Arts program can substitute for experience.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Tulsa City County Food Handlers permit
  • Knowledge of food preparationย (ex. main dishes, salads and baked goods)
  • Knowledge of food preparation safety and health standards and procedures
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Valid state issued driver's license
  • Bilingual is a plus

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Salary Schedule:ย ย 
Support Staff - 10 Month

Hiring Range:
$14.57ย to $17.04ย per hour, (10 month position working August - May) plusย $825ย additional compensation monthly for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
