Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Responsible for all The Company Policies and Procedures included in the Food Service Section.

  2. Manage and oversee all maintenance and operations of the kitchen.

  3. Weekly ordering of all food and related materials needed.

  4. Manage all kitchen internal and external inspections.

  5. Responsible for cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas.

  6. Supervise all food preparation.

  7. Ensures kitchen safety is followed at all times.

  8. Supervise, train and evaluate all employees in this department.

  9. Conduct monthly meetings, which include safety training, with all kitchen staff

  10. Attend all mandatory site meetings and trainings.

  11. Supervise inmates working in the kitchen.

  12. Manage the siteโ€™s inmate Culinary Arts Program though teaching classes, supervising inmateโ€™s practical experience and completing any other tasks required for the Culinary Arts Program.

  13. Ensure Culinary Arts Program maintains any accreditation, approval, etcโ€ฆ as required.

  14. Clock in and out utilizing the company time and attendance system.

  15. Must be able to perform the major functions of job with or without an accommodation.

  16. Required to attend all mandatory training specified by policy.

  17. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  18. Report all Workers Compensation injuries, whether or not they require medical attention or not, to you immediate supervisor, the Business Administrator or the Facility Director.

  19. Report all breaches of company policy or code of ethics that you have knowledge of, hear about or see regardless of who is involved in the breach to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director.Or the HR Department if necessary.

  20. Report all unsafe conditions that could affect clients/inmates or employees which you become aware of to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director immediately.

  21. To be eligible for promotion you must demonstrate organizational abilities and must have good written and oral communication skills.

  22. Ensure that all applicable policies and procedures that fall within the scope of this job description are followed and adhered to.

  23. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

EXPERIENCE:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Five years of experience in public food service and two years of supervisory experience in same field.ย  Any experience required for certification of Culinary Arts Program.

EDUCATION:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  High School Diploma or equivalent.ย  Other education as required for certification of Culinary Arts Program.
