Arts Integration Coach Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Position: Integrated Arts Instructional Coach 
Supervisor: Director of Secondary Education 
Contract Expectations: 188 days

PURPOSE:
The role of the Integrated Arts Instructional Coach is to plan and oversee the implementation and management of the program and all integrated arts related activities. Through coordination with teachers, administrators, and the community partners, the coordinator is responsible for the full delivery of the curriculum including documentation, reporting, analysis, and program evaluation.  With a targeted lens, the coordinator's role is to provide strategies for teaching and supporting teachers in the effective implementation of best practices related to instruction, as well as ensuring the rollout, implementation and documentation of the K-8 Academy of Integrated Arts programming.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, in the Fine Arts, Administration, or related discipline
LICENSE: Must hold a valid Michigan Grades K-8 Teacher's License (with an endorsement in a Fine Arts discipline preferred). 
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching (rated effective or highly effective). Previous experience communicating and working effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and external stakeholders.
Contract Expectations: 188 days

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• The Integrated Arts Instructional Coach ensures the continuity of the program through developing systems and documentation. This includes mapping the K-8 continuum of arts integration, unit planners, daily planners, policy documents, guidelines for verification and evaluation, and continuum initiatives.
• A vital aspect of an Integrated Arts Instructional Coach's role is collaborative planning with all teachers. This requires a deep understanding of what constitutes a good collaborative learning team with its variety of roles
• The Integrated Arts Instructional Coach is responsible for conducting induction into program for new faculty and staff and be part of the collaborative decision making regarding PD initiatives within the school.
• The Integrated Arts Instructional Coach ensures information about the program is disseminated clearly and effectively to all members of the school and community. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Articulate a shared vision for K-8 Academy of Visual and Performing Arts program framework at Northwestern
• Provide instructional leadership to individual teachers through instructional coaching, mentoring, peer support, and team-teaching opportunities
• Coordinate, develop, implement and evaluate the K-8 Academy of Visual and Performing Arts program
• Lead Northwestern to develop, implement, and evaluate the integrated arts curriculum
• Create and continually develop relationships with colleges, universities and community based art programs to provide services for students.
• Coordinate and maintain the K-8 Academy of Visual and Performing Arts master schedule for community activities and events
• Keep abreast of research, best practice, and innovations relative to the K-8 Academy of Visual and Performing Arts curriculum, instructional delivery, and community collaboration, and share knowledge with stakeholders
• Provide formal and informal staff development/training related to both research and practice for classroom teachers and site administrators.
• Collaborate weekly with grade K 8 certificated teachers, as well as site leadership teams, to develop strategies and support services that provide for seamless school-wide transitions.
• Attend parent, grade level and program meetings, host informational sessions, attend and lead job-a-likes, and visit partnering schools
• Facilitate presentations, productions, events and/or activities as appropriate that showcase student learning and achievement
• Facilitate budgetary requests for trainings and curricular materials to the Principal
• Communicate with all shareholders (students, parents, teachers, administrators, district personnel) regarding integrated arts programming procedures, requirements and policies, events and opportunities, and current progress of the programs via meetings, letters, blogging, submission of articles to school newsletters, and additional publications
• Other duties aligned to Title I.

Organizational Relationship: Responsible to the Director of Secondary Education
