About the Atlanta Beltline:
Atlanta Beltline, Inc. is the official implementation agency for the Atlanta Beltline, the 22-mile rail-to-trail conversion that's one of the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs in the United States. Its vision is to be the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive and sustainable city life. The Atlanta Beltline is building a more socially and economically resilient Atlanta with our partner organizations and host communities through job creation, inclusive transportation systems, affordable housing and public spaces for all.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Arts & Culture, the Arts & Culture Coordinator supports the implementation and day-to-day coordination of Atlanta Beltline's public art and cultural programs. This role assists with the coordination of public exhibitions, signature Beltline cultural events and activations, other temporary and permanent public art projects, and the artist engagement processes.
The Arts and Culture Coordinator works closely with artists, arts organizations, contractors, community partners, and ABI staff to help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with ABI's mission, community values, and design standards. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about public art, community engagement, and cultural programming in a dynamic urban environment. The Arts and Culture Coordinator will promote the Vision, Mission and Core Values of ABI while fostering a collegial work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the implementation of the Atlanta Beltline Arts & Culture program.
2. Assist with coordination and logistics for Atlanta Beltline Art call for art, artists, proposals and qualifications.
3. Provide administrative and logistical support for art projects, installations, and events.
4. Serve as a liaison between artists, vendors, and internal staff to ensure clear communication and smooth coordination.
5. Assist with scheduling meetings, developing timelines, and tracking other project milestones.
6. Support artist onboarding and help gather required documentation for contracts and payments.
7. Maintain organized records of artist contacts, art projects, financial records and program files.
8. Assist with the coordination of art installations and performances.
9. Help prepare materials for artist selection panels and community meetings.
10. Support community engagement activities related to public art.
11. Provide basic graphic and presentation support for reports, grants, and program updates.
12. Track program expenses and assist with budget documentation as directed.
13. Support grant documentation and reporting requirements as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Art Administration, Cultural Studies, or a related field preferred.
2. 1-3 years of experience supporting arts programs, cultural organizations, or community-based projects.
3. Interest in public art and community-centered creative work.
4. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
5. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
6. Comfortable interacting with artists, community members, and partners.
7. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
9. Basic familiarity with event coordination and logistics.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Asana.
11. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred but not required.
12. Willingness to support occasional evening or weekend events.
