Join Our Roster!
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center is seeking passionate, experienced artists with a vested interest in arts education and arts integration to serve as Teaching Artists. Appel Farm is expanding our Teaching Artist Roster, and we are specifically seeking Theater, Movement, and Music-focused artists, along with creative educators who focus on visual and media arts. Join us for an excellent opportunity to share your art and gain experience in arts integrated learning.
Qualifications
Artists with expertise in music, theater, movement, dance, 2D and 3D visual arts, and media arts are needed for a variety of educational experiences including in-school and after-school programs, community workshops, and special events throughout the South Jersey region, as well as Arts Lab classes for early childhood, kids and teens, and adults. Teaching Artists must have demonstrated previous teaching experience teaching their area of the arts, ideally in a school setting.
We are seeking artists who share in our mission that creativity and artistic talents are innate and waiting to be developed in every person. Ideal candidates are progressive and offer engaging classroom strategies, with a classroom management approach focused on meeting people where they are at, collaborative problem solving, and restorative practices. Experience with early childhood education, differentiated instruction, and multilingual, especially Spanish-speaking, a plus.
This is a great opportunity to build your teaching resume, learning and implementing Arts Integration skills.
These are hourly positions ranging from $50-$75 per hour.

  • Three professional references that include two references which focus on your skills and experiences as a teaching artist and one reference that speaks to your skills and talents as a professional artist.

Please note that all Teaching Artists must provide current copies of their background check for the state of NJ. Criminal Record Check, Finger Print CHRI and Child Abuse History Clearance must be completed.
