Job description

SUMMARY: Providing spiritual and religious support to residents/patients during the Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.
Reports To: Director, Pastoral Services
Titles Supervised: N/A
Hours Per Week: Per Diem
DUTIES
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Assist in leading Synagogue services for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.
2.Conduct religious programming for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays for all residents/patients.
3.Provide pastoral visits and counseling for residents/patients.
4.Assist Director of Pastoral Services in providing the spiritual environment appropriate for Sabbath and Jewish holidays.
5.Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Arts or Sciences
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Jewish communal service
Licensure: Valid driver's license
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Jewish practices related to Synagogue, dietary laws, and Jewish holidays; to read Hebrew; ability to read communicate effectively including public speaking; ability to meet multiple demands and to perform job requirements on time.
