This is a critical role as part of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Warfighter Communications and Cyber Systems (AF/A6), where you will develop and implement strategy to drive AI adoption across the force. The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Chief, Artificial Intelligence Analyst, GG-1515-14 at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.
Salary Range: $143,919 - $187,093 based on experience
relocation incentive may be available

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Qualifications/Requirements:
The primary purpose of this position: To serve as Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) Science and Technology (S&T) technical policy leader to shape the Deputy Chief of Staff for Warfighter Communications and Cyber Systems (AF/A6) Data and AI Office (DAO) on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) Research and Development Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) strategies and advises AF/A6 leaders on projects and/or initiatives related to AI, ML, DL and related field. Works directly with the Department of Air Force (DAF) and Space Force senior management, scientific, and technical organizations personnel throughout the DAF enterprise including AF stakeholders, other US government Departments and Agencies; industry, Interagency, Institutional and international partners; and public interest groups to guide AI/ML/DL S&T, innovation, RDT&E developmental and operational initiatives and investments to enable the AF to protect and advance its missions including increasing business enterprise efficiency, mission operations capability, and warfighting capacity.
U.S. Citizenships Required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by US Office of Personnel Management for the 1515, 1550, or 1560 occupational series must be met.

Masters in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science preferred; minimum STEM degree; experience working Data Science, AI/ML, Large Language Models, Robotic Process Automation, Natural Language Processing
Professional knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to conceptualize, develop, adapt, modify and apply new models to resolve the most difficult problems and to achieve support for alternative solutions within the scientific community.
Advanced knowledge and skill of a broad range of defense department or private sector C4 systems, data, scientist Big Data analytics, machine learning, AI, cognitive science, programs, operations, strategies, tactics, resource and information processes, force structure, and weapons systems. Includes operations research analysis techniques and mastery of scientific and analytical capabilities.
Advance skill in articulating and negotiating very complex and sensitive issues with official of diverse perspectives and often with different or opposing views. Expert ability to negotiate and defend findings and gain execute support for new program concepts.
Skill in leading advanced study teams composed of industry, government, and academic experts; to originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies withing established financial and/or time constraints.
Skill to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build and use models and simulation techniques.
Ability to plan, organize, direct and lead the functions and staff and/or study team tasked to originate new ideas, projects and methodologies. Communicates in a way to negotiate complex and/or sensitive issues and maintain good working relations.
