Join our team as a Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and make a meaningful impact by facilitating one-hour Art Therapy sessions once a week for veterans managing brain/spinal cord injuries and PTSD. This role focuses on using creativity and expressive art to assist wounded warriors in overcoming challenges and enhancing cognitive abilities.

The Art Therapist conducts personalized therapy sessions for veterans, assisting those with cognitive and physical limitations, leading therapeutic art activities, documenting session progress weekly, and actively contributing to interdisciplinary team meetings for enhanced communication and unity. Reimbursement is provided for mileage and preapproved expenses. Opportunity to work with multiple clients.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outpatient art therapy services to enhance patients' well-being and progress.
  • Conduct intakes and oversee individual and occasional family therapies.
  • Develop and adapt treatment plans, conducting regular reviews as needed.
  • Perform mental health assessments, offering art therapy/counseling and intervention services.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in line with federal and state guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) or Registered Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC).
  • Master's degree in Art Therapy or related counseling field, with master’s level Art Therapy certification.
  • Preferred experience working with individuals facing developmental and physical disabilities.
  • Military background is advantageous.
