What is an art sample?

Art samples are examples of an artist’s work, often requested by employers, galleries, or clients to evaluate the artist’s skills, style, and suitability for a project or opportunity. These samples can include drawings, paintings, digital artwork, prints, or any other medium that showcases the artist’s abilities. Providing strong art samples is essential when applying for art-related jobs, commissions, or academic programs, as they demonstrate your creativity, technical proficiency, and unique artistic voice.

This requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with a variety of materials, and effective communication with both the creative and production teams.
