Pediatric Anesthesiologist Opportunity

Pediatric Anesthesiologist opportunity at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC! Our practice is based in the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a 678-bed level II trauma center, which serves as a tertiary care center for seven counties in southeastern coastal North Carolina. We also provide anesthesia services to multiple other locations across the Cape Fear region, including Cape Fear (Orthopedic) Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital, Dosher Hospital (Southport), Atlantic SurgiCenter, Scotts Hill Outpatient Surgery Center, and various office-based settings.

Case Assignments ~20% peds/neonates, including general surgery, craniofacial surgery, endo, eyes, urology, dental, and MRI. ~80% adult, including OB, regional, vascular, neurosurgery, endo, orthopedics and OB/GYN.

Many of our physicians have fellowship training in cardiovascular, pain management, regional, and pediatric anesthesiology. Responsibilities Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition Performance of clinical intervention as needed Near 100% CRNA Supervision Requirements M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine ECFMG and FLEX Completion of approved residency in anesthesia Currently licensed as a physician
