The Role
Our Creative team is seeking an experienced Creative Director (Key Art) to lead the key art practice at UNFOLD.
Creative Leadership
• Lead the creative development of entertainment key art campaigns from concept
through final execution.
• Develop key art campaigns rooted in storytelling, positioning, audience insight, and
cultural relevance.
• Oversee campaign development across theatrical, streaming, and television
partnerships.
• Present creative concepts and rationale clearly and confidently to internal
stakeholders and clients.
Concept Development & Design Oversight
• Guide teams through typography, composition, color, photography, retouching,
illustration, and visual storytelling decisions.
• Partner closely with photographers, retouchers, illustrators, finishers, and
production teams to maintain creative integrity throughout execution.
• Maintain the technical design skills necessary to execute high-level creative work.
• Attend and creatively direct photo shoots, working closely with photographers,
talent, stylists, art directors, and studio teams to ensure imagery aligns with
campaign objectives.
• Develop shot lists, moodboards, visual references, and on-set creative guidance.
• Ensure high standards across all campaign assets, including OOH, adaptations, and
beyond.
• Maintain awareness of evolving entertainment, editorial, photography, and pop
culture trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with Account, Strategy, Production, and Operations teams to
ensure creative excellence while balancing timelines, budgets, and scope.
• Partner with marketing clients to understand campaign objectives, audience
positioning, and franchise considerations.
• Work alongside AV, social, and integrated teams to ensure cohesive campaign
ecosystems across touchpoints when necessary
• Participate in internal creative reviews and campaign positioning discussions.
• Participate in capability meetings, client presentations, and new business initiatives
alongside leadership teams.
• Build trusted relationships with clients through thoughtful creative leadership and
strong communication.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
• Lead and mentor a design team and freelance creative talent.
• Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and creatively inspiring team culture.
• Provide thoughtful feedback, creative direction, and professional development
support to junior and mid-level creatives.
• Help identify talent needs and participate in recruiting and team-building efforts.
Innovation & Industry Awareness
• Push creative boundaries while remaining strategically grounded in entertainment
marketing objectives.
• Bring fresh references, visual approaches, and cultural awareness into the creative
process.
• Help evolve the studio's creative reputation and point of view within the
entertainment industry.
Qualifications
• 8-12+ years of experience in entertainment marketing, with a strong focus on key art
campaign development.
• Proven experience concepting and leading campaigns for film, television, streaming,
gaming, or entertainment brands.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, typography, composition,
visual storytelling, and campaign system development.
• Deep understanding of entertainment photography, retouching, finishing, and
adaptation workflows.
• Strong experience leading creative teams in fast-paced agency or studio
environments.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong presentation, communication, and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to balance creative ambition with strategic objectives, timelines, and
operational realities.
