Job description

Be the friendly face that welcomes every guest to the Kroc Center! As a Welcome Desk Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist members and visitors, answer questions, and help create a warm, positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Starting pay: $12.00
Part Time: 19 hours per week
Available Shift: 5:15 AM - 10:00 AM

Job Objective:
As the Welcome Desk Associate I you will be responsible for creating exceptional customer services experiences. Primary responsibilities include selling and/or verifying membership's program registrations as well as providing facility information, answering, and routing all incoming phone calls, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
What You Will Do:

  • Provide world class customer service to the community by building lasting relationships so support membership retention through exceptional service and follow up, with an attitude of Christian hospitality
  • Perform point of sales (POS) transactions at the Welcome Desk.
  • Be an ambassador for the Kroc Center by giving tours, promoting the center and selling memberships.
  • Maintain progressive knowledge of all programs and facilities.
  • Enter all membership information accurately and in timely manner.
  • Follow all policies and procedures for the Welcome desk and POS system
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in customer service and cash handling related industries.
Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training and CPR Certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
Supervisory Responsibility: None

Physical Requirements Include:
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking.
  • May require standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment; may require some weekend and evening work
