Armis Security Specialist – Laboratory & OT/IoT Environments

Location: Onsite – New Jersey or Pennsylvania
Type: Contract
Work Authorization: OPT / H1B Accepted


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Armis Security Specialist to support laboratory and OT/IoT security operations within a pharmaceutical/R&D environment. This role is responsible for maximizing the value of the Armis platform by strengthening monitoring, detection, and response capabilities across lab instrumentation and operational technology environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Armis or similar OT/IoT security platforms, strong network security fundamentals, and the ability to collaborate closely with R&D, lab operations, and cybersecurity teams.


Key ResponsibilitiesArmis Platform Operations
  • Serve as the primary Armis SME for lab and OT/IoT environments

  • Configure and manage Armis alerts, policies, rules, and device classifications

  • Tune detection logic to reduce false positives and improve actionable insights

  • Integrate Armis with SIEM, CMDB, NAC, and vulnerability management tools

  • Support rollout of new Armis features and use cases

Monitoring, Analysis & Incident Support
  • Triage and investigate Armis alerts and correlate with network/security logs

  • Provide technical input during incident response activities (containment, impact analysis, remediation)

  • Produce reporting on asset inventory, vulnerabilities, and risk posture

  • Present findings and risk insights to stakeholders

 Lab Asset Visibility & Risk Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory of lab/OT devices

  • Identify vulnerable, unsupported, or misconfigured assets

  • Support remediation planning with Lab IT and cybersecurity teams

 Policies, Controls & Compliance
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and runbooks for:

    • Vulnerability & patch management for lab equipment

    • Incident detection and response

  • Ensure alignment with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GxP

 Collaboration & Training
  • Work closely with R&D scientists and lab operations teams

  • Support training and awareness sessions for secure use of lab/OT devices


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 2–4+ years in cybersecurity, network security, or OT/IoT security

  • Hands-on experience with Armis or similar OT/IoT/medical device security platforms

  • Strong understanding of:

    • TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching

    • Firewalls, NAC concepts

    • Asset discovery and anomaly detection

  • Experience developing SOPs and security procedures

  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech R&D environments

  • Familiarity with GxP and computerized system validation (CSV)

  • Exposure to SIEM, vulnerability management, NAC, CMDB tools

  • Certifications such as Security+, GSEC, GICSP, CISSP, or Armis training
