General Job Brief
The Multimedia & Social Content Creator serves as Arizona Christian University's primary content creator and visual storyteller, producing authentic photography, video, and social media content that advances student recruitment, donor engagement, alumni relations, and institutional marketing by telling the stories of lives transformed through the distinctive ACU experience. This position captures and edits photography and video that authentically reflects student life, academics, athletics, campus culture, alumni engagement, and donor impact, while managing day-to-day content creation for the University's media platforms.
The role creates professional creative assets that support strategic marketing initiatives and proactively identifies compelling stories across campus, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and technical expertise. An ideal candidate will understand how to create content that connects with prospective students and the broader ACU community. The role requires a deep understanding of and commitment to ACU's Christian mission to Transform Culture with Truth, expressed through daily work and person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Typical Duties:
General
  • Identify and proactively develop compelling stories that communicate the transformational impact of an Arizona Christian University education.
  • Build relationships across campus to identify authentic stories of student growth, alumni success, faculty excellence, and donor impact.
  • Develop a regular pipeline of content opportunities through proactive engagement with students, faculty, athletics, advancement, admissions, and campus events.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a rolling content calendar to ensure consistent storytelling across recruitment, advancement, alumni engagement, and institutional communications.
  • Maintain a visible presence across campus to capture authentic moments reflecting the student experience and university culture.

Video Production
  • Capture and edit short-form videos content.
  • Produce student testimonial videos.
  • Film donor and alumni stories.
  • Create recruitment videos and campaign-related video assets.
  • Produce YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other vertical video for social platforms.

Photography
  • Photograph campus events, student life, chapel, athletics, and advancement activities.
  • Capture faculty, staff and enrollment-related activities.
  • Provide imagery to support marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct photo shoots for athletic team media days.
Social Media
  • Manage social publishing schedules and maintain a consistent posting cadence.
  • Create platform-specific content including Stories, Reels, Shorts, and feed content.
  • Identify trends that can be authentically adapted to communicate ACU's mission and student experience.
  • Recommend and implement creative opportunities that align with ACU's mission and brand.
  • Handle community engagement on platforms.
  • KPI reporting for Social Media platforms.
Creative Production
  • Edit photos and videos for use across digital and print channels.
  • Produce web and social media graphics.
  • Optimize creative assets for multiple platforms and formats.
  • Draft captions, headlines, and basic copy supporting multimedia content.
  • Assist with scripting short-form videos and interviews.
  • Gain approvals for content across departments.
  • Organize and maintain the digital asset library and media archives.
Collaboration
  • Partner with Enrollment and Advancement on recruitment and fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Athletics and Student Life to cover key events and stories.
  • Support major institutional events and campaigns.
  • Work alongside and mentor student content creators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Brand Reputation
  • Always represent ACU in a professional and Christ-honoring manner.
  • Ensure all content reflects the University's biblical worldview and mission.
  • Be mindful of reputation management when capturing and sharing content
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working in classroom or student settings.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate collaboration, confidentiality, schedule flexibility, and integrity in all responsibilities.
  • Exhibit commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes, including an active Christian faith.
  • Be comfortable praying with and for students, faculty, and staff as appropriate.
  • Meaningfully support and encourage others from a biblical worldview, drawing on Scripture and orthodox Christian writings.
  • Stay current on social media trends, editing tools, and video formats relevant to Gen Z and Alpha audiences
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support marketing, advancement, and enrollment goals
  • Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.

Knowledge
  • Professional photography and videography
  • Non-linear video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent)
  • Photo editing (Lightroom, Photoshop)

  • Graphic design and content creation tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.)

Education and Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Multimedia, Digital Media, Marketing, Film, Photography, or related field
  • 2-4 years professional multimedia experience
  • Portfolio demonstrating photography and video production
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts.

Preferred
  • Higher education marketing experience.
  • Drone certification.
  • Motion graphics experience.
  • Experience producing recruitment, fundraising, or mission-driven marketing content for Christian nonprofits, ministries, educational institutions, or values-based organizations.

Time Required: 40 hours per week; Full-time on campus
