JOB SUMMARY
Technical Service Engineers (TSEs) serve as technical consultants and support specialists, working closely with ARGO customers and internal teams to ensure successful software implementations, upgrades, and ongoing support. TSEs provide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and technical recommendations across ARGO solutions and third-party technologies. Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include leading architecture discussions, mentoring, and managing complex technical projects.

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: 30–40%
  • Software Installation & Configuration: 25–35%
  • Documentation & Communication: 10–20%
  • Client Interaction & Consulting: 10–20%
  • Training, Mentoring, or Leadership (as applicable): 0–15%

EXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Provide technical support during software implementations and upgrades.
  • Ability to install, configure, and implement software and third-party solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver technical recommendations and resolve complex issues.
  • Participate in or lead architecture discussions and system design planning.
  • Analyze and interpret application logs, traces, and performance data.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for internal and external use.
  • Assist in training Administrators and creating support materials.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and manage time-sensitive deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or a related technical field required.
  • Proven experience as an Application Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Production Support Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical support role
  • Experience requirements vary by level:
    • Mid-level: 4–6 years with increasing responsibility.
    • Senior-level: 10+ years with consulting and leadership experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-grade distributed systems, including multi-threaded applications, multi-tier architectures, and multi-server environments
  • Scripting and automation skills (Batch, PowerShell).
  • Relational database experience (SQL Server), including SQL syntax and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with application development environments (ASP.NET, C#, C++).
  • Ability to analyze logs and traces for root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS technologies (IIS, Active Directory, MSMQ, Terminal Services).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, HTTP, SNA).

ATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATION
The position is based in our Richardson, TX office. Daily physical presence in the office is required for interaction with co-workers, attending meetings, and for collaboration on projects.
