THE ROLE

As an Arena Operator/Outdoor Facility Maintainer with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will be part of a team proud to provide safe, quality arena and outdoor sports facilities to members of the Canadian Armed Forces community. You will take satisfaction seeing them at play and enjoying the facilities and get to experience the thrill of the cheering fans as you drive the Zamboni down the ice surface.

Daily, you will ensure the ice rink is maintained, dressing rooms are ready and equipment is organized and in proper working order. You will ensure outdoor facilities and sports fields are maintained and safe to use such as soccer fields, ball diamond, volleyball court, splash park, playground, etc. You will greet visitors, manage access to the facility and fields and answer customer inquiries. You will patrol the facility to ensure rules and regulations are being followed and equipment and facilities are safe for all those that visit.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND several years of experience in a related field

AND

Current CPR and basic First Aid qualifications (Asset)

Valid driver's license class 5 (Quebec)

Provincial Recreation Facilities Association Certified Ice Technician or equivalent (Asset)

Experience

In the operation and maintenance of ice rink

In using and maintaining outdoor and indoor sports and recreation facility equipment

Of stocktaking

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
