Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Project Management Intern to support field operations on residential shell construction projects. This hands-on internship provides exposure to concrete operations, inspections, material management, scheduling coordination, and overall jobsite operations.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn about the construction industry, comfortable working outdoors, organized, and capable of supporting Project Managers and field teams in a fast-paced environment.


Internship Length:

  • 12-week internship program
  • Full-time schedule (Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day)
  • Potential opportunity for long-term employment based on performance

Reports To: Area Manager / Project Manager


Key Responsibilities:


I. Field Operations Support
  • Assist Project Managers and field teams in monitoring concrete pours.
  • Shadow and support in-line inspections throughout all phases of construction.
  • Assist during inspections by reviewing plans and helping coordinate field activities.
  • Gain exposure to construction sequencing, field execution, and jobsite coordination.
II. Material Management
  • Assist with collecting, sorting, counting, and returning leftover materials to designated areas.
  • Support tracking and organizing rebar caps and other field materials.
  • Assist with inventory checks and material distribution from storage areas to field staff.
III. Site Maintenance & Cleanup
  • Assist in maintaining clean and organized jobsites, including sweeping and preparing homes for inspections and ongoing work.
  • Help ensure jobsite readiness and cleanliness to support construction activities.
  • Learn proper construction cleanup and site maintenance standards.
IV. Warranty & General Support
  • Assist with warranty-related tasks and service work as needed.
  • Support field teams by retrieving and delivering materials to address shortages.
  • Provide general support to Project Managers and field staff as directed.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks to support overall project success and learning opportunities.
V. Tools & Equipment Exposure

Interns will gain exposure to and assist with the use of the following tools and materials under appropriate supervision:

  • Patching materials (stucco, hydraulic cement, mortar, etc.)
  • Hammers, trowels, and finishing tools
  • Tape measures
  • Concrete vibrators
  • Floor screw guns and screws
  • Brooms and dustpans
  • Assorted hand tools used in construction support tasks
VI. Safety & Equipment Responsibility
  • Wear required PPE at all times, including hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, dust mask, and high-visibility vest.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and supervisory instructions.
  • Learn proper care and handling of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Report safety concerns, hazards, or maintenance issues to supervisors immediately.
VII. Physical Requirements
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Lift, push, and pull materials and equipment.
  • Operate motor vehicles and construction equipment as assigned.
  • Utilize basic computer skills and maintain visual acuity, including color and depth perception.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
VIII. Working Conditions
  • Exposure to outdoor environments, including Florida heat and varying weather conditions.
  • Work on active, dusty construction jobsites.
  • Operation of vehicles and equipment.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Exposure to mechanical and other construction-related hazards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday


Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Construction Management program or related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to comply with company safety requirements and background screening policies.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel between jobsites daily.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical field work.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in Florida heat and active construction environments.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and attendance record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior construction, labor, or field experience.
  • Familiarity with construction tools, materials, and jobsite operations.
