ClearanceSecretOverview

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and maintenance of complex electronic systems and equipment. This role requires extensive technical expertise to analyze and resolve non-routine issues that cannot be addressed solely through manufacturer documentation. The successful candidate will independently evaluate circuitry, perform advanced circuit analysis, utilize sophisticated electronic test equipment, implement engineering changes, and ensure all work meets established quality and safety standards. In addition, this position provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians while supporting the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical electronic systems.

Background

The RLSC was established in 2014 to provide depot level maintenance repairs, sustainment, and training for all Army units and customers outside the Army. The RLSC is the Department of War's (DoW) sole provider of government repair and maintenance for its robotic fleet across all service branches. To successfully provide these services, the RLSC must maintain a fully staffed Technical, Management, and Logistics organization capable of responding to the current and future robotic systems needs of the Joint Warfighter, including program management, maintenance, repair, training, warehousing, logistics, and engineering support services to troops both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electronic system malfunctions that extend beyond standard manufacturer manuals and technical documentation.
  • Perform advanced circuit analysis, including waveform calculations, signal flow tracing, and evaluation of circuit interrelationships to identify and correct system issues.
  • Utilize sophisticated electronic test equipment, including high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer-controlled diagnostic systems.
  • Evaluate circuitry layout and density, assess electromagnetic radiation, isolate complex faults, and implement engineering changes to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning work, selecting diagnostic methods, and resolving technically challenging maintenance and repair issues with minimal supervision.
  • Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of complex electronic systems while ensuring compliance with established technical standards and industry best practices.
  • Verify that repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities meet quality, safety, and operational requirements through adherence to accepted engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Interpret complex technical data, schematics, engineering drawings, and system documentation to support diagnostics, repairs, and system enhancements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and on-the-job guidance to junior electronics technicians, supporting skill development and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement design changes, resolve recurring technical issues, and improve system performance and maintainability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, document troubleshooting procedures, and communicate technical findings and recommendations to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, diagnostic methods, and equipment reliability.
Qualifications

Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in complex electronics maintenance, repair, and advanced troubleshooting.
