Job description

Finance Intern

The Finance Intern will support the Finance department's daily operations, accounting, and reporting. This role offers practical experience in budget tracking, financial reporting, invoice processing, and audit preparation.

The Finance Intern will be responsible for a major digitization project, converting a decade's worth of physical financial documents—including ledgers, Accounts Payable (A/P) records, payroll data, closing reports, and sales figures—into a comprehensive, searchable Google Drive archive. Key responsibilities include:

Records Management & Digitization

  • Inventory, categorize, and prepare ten years of existing records for scanning, grouping them by document type and year.
  • Flag any records that are damaged, incomplete, or otherwise defy categorization and clearly identify them for review.

Archival Quality Assurance & Data Entry

  • Execute the upload of all scanned documents, organizing them precisely according to the established Google Drive folder structure.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks to confirm correct folder placement, file legibility, and overall document completeness.
  • Maintain a daily log documenting progress and participate in scheduled weekly check-ins.
  • Provide support for structured data entry tasks, inputting information into designated spreadsheet templates as directed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Management.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a process-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive and managing files digitally.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Coursework or practical experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with document scanning or digitization processes.
  • Previous professional office or administrative experience.
  • Skilled in using spreadsheet software, specifically Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
