Role Summary:

The Senior Interior Designer is expected to deliver world class co working environments. This is a technical and creative role that requires a passion for design. The key objective is to deliver exemplary projects of the highest possible design quality on time and on budget.


Key Relationships:

  • Kiln Build and Procurement team
  • External architecture, construction, and manufacturing partners


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Creative Director to deliver new site designs for Kiln.
  • Concept design development of new concepts and ideas.
  • Space planning and test-fit concepts into new sites.
  • Manage and produce detailed drawing packages for each new site.
  • Work closely with the build and procurement team to ensure the designs are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work alongside external architectural partners to deliver construction design sets, visit new sites, attend regular site meetings and be part of the final installation and fit outs.
  • Work to develop ourKiln Seriesfurniture and componentry: create shop drawings, review engineering specs, and review prototypes; and work with manufacturing partners, furniture makers, workshops and other contractors to deliver a high level of finish.
  • Develop styling concepts for Kiln sites, help manage the interior styling team.
  • Integrate our graphic brand into the concepts and our spaces.
  • Develop a deep understanding of 'coworking' and an even deeper understanding of how our members interact and behave in our spaces.
  • Be active on the Kiln member network and contribute to social media content.
  • Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Creative Director


Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in commercial interior design.
  • Strong design portfolio in commercial interior design.
  • Experience designing Hospitality focused projects preferred, but not required.
  • College graduate with a four-year degree preferred, but not required.
  • Highly Proficient in the use of CAD packages, preferably Vector works.
  • Computer visualization and rendering, and hand sketching for presentations.
  • Google and Adobe Suite, Slack, Asana, and ready and able to learn to manage additional SaaS platforms.
  • Understanding of ADA and office code requirements.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrates integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.
  • Passion and understanding for Kiln's mission and values.
  • Willingness to travel. Must hold a valid passport.
