Job description

About mophie
mophie is the most trusted name in mobile power - a brand built on twenty-one years of innovation inside the Apple ecosystem. As a ZAGG brand, mophie is entering an ambitious new chapter: rebuilding its direct-to-consumer business from the ground up and building owned channels that drive revenue, deepen customer relationships, and perform at a level worthy of the brand. Email and SMS are at the center of that effort.
The Opportunity
mophie's owned channel program is being rebuilt from scratch, and this Sr. Manager is the operator who runs it. Email and SMS are two of the highest-leverage channels in a DTC business, and this role will help define the strategy in close collaboration with the CMO, then own the execution, infrastructure, and reporting that makes it perform.

This is a hands-on role. You will be in the platform daily: building flows, reviewing copy, pulling reports, and making optimization decisions. The outcomes belong to you.

The platform is Attentive. Deep fluency in Attentive is a hard requirement for this role.
What You'll Own

Program Strategy
  • Partner with the CMO to help define mophie's email and SMS marketing strategy, including channel-level revenue targets, subscriber growth goals, list health standards, and program architecture.
  • Own the execution and delivery of that strategy across every campaign, flow, and send.
  • Build a content and campaign calendar that balances promotional cadence, lifecycle automation, product launches, and brand storytelling without burning the list.
  • Bring a clear point of view on how email and SMS complement each other and how each channel fits within the broader DTC marketing mix.

Variable Cost amp; Budget Management
  • Manage variable program costs across both email and SMS on a monthly basis. The program runs on a volume-based pricing model - scaling send volume is the goal, and this person manages the program to forecast and budget.
  • Monitor cost per send, conversion rate, and send volume in tandem to ensure the program scales efficiently without drifting from plan.
  • Bring proactive budget visibility to the CMO: flag variances early, adjust send cadence or segmentation when needed, and always know where the program stands against monthly targets.

Lifecycle amp; Automation
  • Build and own the full pre-purchase and post-purchase automation architecture: welcome series, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and VIP flows.
  • Ensure every automated flow is optimized for conversion, margin contribution, and brand experience - not just open rate.
  • Define the segmentation logic that powers personalized messaging across both channels: device ownership, purchase history, lifecycle stage, and engagement tier.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce team to ensure flows align with the DTC site experience and promotional strategy.

Campaign Execution amp; QA
  • Own end-to-end campaign execution across email and SMS: briefing, build, QA, send, and post-send analysis.
  • Maintain a rigorous QA standard for every send - accuracy, rendering, link integrity, and brand tone are non-negotiable.
  • Run A/B tests consistently and systematically - subject lines, send times, copy, offers, segmentation - and translate results into permanent program improvements.
  • Proof and approve all SMS copy personally before send - tone, brevity, and on-brand voice are your responsibility.

Reporting amp; Measurement
  • Define the reporting framework for both channels: revenue contribution, product-level contribution margin, channel-level contribution margin, cost per send, deliverability, open rate, click rate, conversion rate, unsubscribe rate, and list growth.
  • Develop and present weekly KPI reports to the CMO that are clear, honest, and decision-oriented.
  • Monitor program health proactively - deliverability issues, list decay, engagement drop-off - and address them before they compound.
  • Partner with the Director of Analytics to ensure email and SMS data flows cleanly into the broader marketing reporting infrastructure.

Platform Management
  • Serve as the internal Attentive platform owner - managing the account, maintaining integrations, and staying current on platform capabilities and new feature releases.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce and Technology teams to ensure Attentive is properly integrated with Shopify and that data flows support accurate segmentation and personalization.
What We're Looking For

Experience
  • 6+ years of email and SMS marketing experience, with demonstrated ownership of a full-scale program in a OTC or ecommerce environment.
  • Deep, hands-on fluency in Attentive - you have built flows, managed campaigns, and owned reporting in Attentive directly. This is a hard requirement.
  • Demonstrated track record of growing email and SMS revenue contribution while managing program costs to budget.
  • Experience building lifecycle automation from scratch, not just inheriting and managing existing flows.
  • Proven ability to manage list health, deliverability, and segmentation at scale - including suppression logic, re-engagement programs, and compliance requirements (CAN-SPAM, TCPA).

Skills amp; Capabilities
  • Platform mastery: Attentive, Shopify, and a working knowledge of how the two integrate at the data layer.
  • Segmentation thinking: you build lists with intent, not blast mentality, and understand how segmentation affects deliverability, engagement, and revenue.
  • Financial fluency: you track cost per send, contribution margin by channel and product, and revenue per send - and you manage the program to those numbers monthly.
  • Creative judgment: you know what good email and SMS copy looks like, can brief a creative team effectively, and can edit on-brand copy yourself when needed.
  • Analytical rigor: you build reports that tell the truth about program performance and use data to make faster decisions.

The Intangibles
  • You are scrappy and strategic in equal measure - you can help shape the plan and execute the send on the same day without losing either.
  • You take personal ownership of list health, deliverability, and program integrity-these are not someone else's problem.
  • You move fast without sacrificing brand standards - every send that goes out under the mophie name reflects on you.
Compensation amp; Benefits
  • mophie offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:
  • Competitive base salary+ quarterly performance bonus
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Product benefits -you'll be well-powered
  • On-site role at our SLC headquarters

How to Apply
This role is based at mophie's headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and is an on-site position. Remote applications will not be considered.
If you are an owned channel operator who knows Attentive cold, builds for revenue contribution, and wants to own a program from the ground up - we want to hear from you.
