Job description

PROJECT DESIGNER

Location: Sandy, Utah

Reports to: VP of Development & Design

Compensation: $65k-$95k

Company Overview

Our client is a fast-casual restaurant group with a well-established and growing presence across multiple states in the Western U.S. Known for fresh, house-made offerings prepared daily, they are in an active expansion phase — opening new locations while continuously refining the guest experience and raising the standard of what their restaurants can be. The culture is collaborative and people-first, with strong investment in design, operations, and brand consistency.

Your Role:

As the Interior Project Designer, you will lead restaurant design projects from initial concept through construction documentation — balancing brand vision, operational needs, budgets, and construction realities to create guest environments that are beautiful, functional, and scalable across a growing multi-state footprint.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead restaurant design projects from initial concept through construction documentation.

• Create and refine test-fits, site plans, floor plans, elevations, and layouts.

• Develop restaurant environments that support guest experience and operational excellence.

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

• Support entitlement, zoning, design review, and permitting processes.

• Review construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and design packages.

• Refine finishes, lighting, signage, millwork, and interior environments.

• Manage design schedules, deliverables, and consultant coordination.

• Continuously improve and evolve the restaurant prototype to support future growth.

What You’ll Bring:

• 8+ years in architecture, interior architecture, restaurant, hospitality, or retail design.

• Strong experience developing test-fits, floor plans, elevations, and construction documentation.

• Working knowledge of zoning, entitlement, permitting, and building codes.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional communication skills.

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; Bluebeam and rendering tools a plus.

  • • Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud and Procore preferred.
