As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we're looking for a Project Manager, responsible for Management of the Capital Project Department at the Atlas Point Manufacturing Facility. Oversite of third-party engineers' contractors, acting as the owner, to progress projects through a stage gated process, through detailed design and construction. Responsible for safely delivering projects on-time and within budget. Projects range in size, encompassing facility repairs to major industrial manufacturing installations.
Who We're Looking For:
• BS degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8-10 years of project engineering or project management experience required
• Experience managing the entire project lifecycle from $1-20M. Being involved as a project manager and not solely as a discipline lead.
• Prior people management experience.
• Prior commissioning experience.
• Experience within a large chemical or refining plant.
• PMP certification or former certification a plus.
• PE in Chemical, Mechanical, or Controls Systems Engineering a plus.
• Chemical or petrochemical industry preferred.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Management of the Capital Project Department including direct supervision of 4-6 Project Managers / Engineers, Document Administrator, 2-3 Construction Management Staff, and a Purchasing Administrator.
• Interface with multiple departments within the organization to develop project requirements and stakeholder needs.
• Develop initial scopes and early-stage estimates by obtaining quotes.
• Manage multiple 3rd party engineers and contractors to progress projects through the entire life cycle. Starting with a typical FEL stage gate process, and progressing through detailed design, field construction and commissioning.
• Familiarity with project management practices
• Requests for proposals, bid scopes and bid breakouts, estimating guidelines, project execution plans, scopes of work, deliverable lists, schedule development and management. Cost and schedule performance index tracking.
• General technical knowledge of processing plant components and systems, including Piping codes / Valve selection / Automated valve operation / Pump operation and selection / Fluid flow and dynamics / Instrumentation types and selection /PLC and DCS basic knowledge / Electrical area classification / Batch plant processing
• Knowledge of operating plant safety, OSHA guidelines and PSM.
• Familiarity and former participation in OSHA Hazop reviews (Hazard Studies).
• Knowledge of construction safety practices.
• General knowledge of construction practices. Ability to interface with foreman, and contractor management to discuss change orders, bid documents, and safety.
• Regularly provide project updates and reports to management.
• Manage or execute small capital projects depending on workload and the given project portfolio.
• Managing Projects including large piping projects involving PSM regulated chemicals. Installation or modification of chemical processing units, involving all engineering disciplines. Environmental control projects involving scrubbers, condensers, and flares. Large infrastructure installation and renovation projects including boilers, buildings, fire water, nitrogen, and steam.
